Two Person Discount’ - If you are only two people and we will reduce the price by 15% which could save you around £90 per week at the height of the season or around £40 during the low season.

Terms - when booking direct

  • 50% payable at time of booking
  • 50% payable 60 days prior to planned/booked arrival date

Refunds - when booking direct

  • If cancelled more than 90 days prior to planned/booked arrival date.
    • A full refund of the deposit will be returned immediately.
  • If cancelled within 90 days of planned/booked arrival date.
    • 50% of the deposit will be returned immediately
    • If we receive a replacement booking we will gladly refund any deposit owing.
  • If cancelled within 75 days of planned/booked arrival date.
    • No refund of deposit will be eligible, unless we receive a replacement booking. We will then refund any deposit owing.
    • If we receive a replacement booking we will gladly refund any deposit owing.
  • If a deposit has been paid by Debit or Credit card we reserve the right to deduct any commission charge paid to the Bank or Credit Card Company

Arrival and Departure

  • Weekly rentals
    • run from Saturday to Saturday
    • arrival - any time from 16:00 (4pm)
    • Departure - by 10:00 (10am)
  • 3 & 4 night Short Breaks
    • 3 night breaks arrival on Friday and departure on Monday
    • 4 night breaks arrival on Monday and departure on Friday
  • Arrival and Departure times – as we complete a through cleaning of the cottage on departure we would ask you to observe the following arrival and departure times. If you need to arrive earlier, please let us know and we will always do our very best to accommodate you.
    • Arrival from 4pm onwards
    • Departure by 10am

Pets

  • Well-behaved dogs, most welcome!
  • We always ask you to make sure that any dogs mess is cleared up!
  • In the paddocks around Low Penhowe you will always find chickens and our Highland cattle.
  • There are plenty of walks around Derwent Cottage. In fact there is a walk that starts and finishes from Derwent Cottage.

Smoking

  • Both cottages are ‘No Smoking’. However we welcome those who wish to smoke to do so in the garden whilst admiring the stunning views across to Castle Howard and beyond to the North Yorkshire Moors

Please help us by leaving the cottage as you found it!
We always complete a thorough cleaning between lettings. However we would really appreciate it you could help us by leaving the cottage in a clean and tidy fashion.
